“Leadership for Christians is about God, not about us…We centre our soul in the hand of God-only then are we ready for leadership” – Walter Wright
- To use the the term “leader” or “leadership” to describe a position is not always helpful, but is better used to capture the reality of someone’s influence on people, culture, or an organization.
- Our desire at LEAD is to develop a culture in which every man or women takes appropriate levels of responsibility for others and faithfully exercises their gifts for the cause of the gospel.
“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5
One of LEAD’s propriety training platforms, Discover U is designed to help people understand who they were truly created to be, their unique purpose in God’s plan, and the God-given gifts they have received to help them fulfill their calling.
The participants go through 3 training modules, all of which build upon one another, and walk them through discovering who we are in relation to God, what happened to our relationship with Him, what Christ did to restore us, and how we should respond to Christ’s sacrifice and love for us.
We then start to uncover how we are each uniquely made, and what spiritual gifts we have each been given for use in our service to others and for the service of God’s Kingdom. After the discovery modules, we start to explain the different types of gifts in depth and we help show the participants different ways to develop the individual gifts they have been blessed with. Before we finish the training, we will help our participants articulate a life plan, and connect them to service opportunities that will allow them to use their gifts to advance God’s Kingdom.
Growing Leaders, through The Growing Leaders Initiative, is allowing LEAD Tanzania to use their materials to help develop healthy character and leadership development amongst youth and young adults.
A composite word comprising of both the terms ‘Habits’ and ‘Attitudes’, Habitudes is a fun, creative and engaging way for youth and young adults to learn and practice leadership. Habitudes teaches timeless leadership principles through the power of an Image, a Conversation, and an Experience.
Part of LEAD Tanzania’s vision is to help prepare youth for the life God has for them. This faith based teaching is helping build leadership skills and spiritual disciplines needed to connect with God and have a positive impact in their world.
Today, Habitudes is being successfully run on a global scale, in arenas as far-ranging as Education, Government, Sports and Business.
We believe that leadership is a timeless virtue, and so are its core principles such as integrity, self-discipline and responsibility. At LEAD Tanzania, we too believe that in order for these principles to be internalised and lived out, they must first stand out, register, and stick. Images are a powerful means of communicating these crucial lessons.
LEAD Tanzania is thankful, and excited in the potential of this initiative.
